Stardate:2406.10.06 (USS Archimedes- Brideg-  FO- Commander Kestra Troi - 0630) Kestra stepped onto the bridge to find Saleke sitting in the command chair.  She knew that Vulcans didn't require a lot of sleep, but he seemed to be pushing himself a little hard.  She was concerned. "Status report Lt," she said, trying to remain command like.  Saleke handed her the PADD he'd been working on.  Kestra glanced at it and smiled.  It seemed that the repairs to the Archimedes were pretty much complete.  They were ready to move.  The big question was, what about the Nimitz? "Lt," she said to Saleke, "I want you to retain command of the Archimedes, while Lt. Commander Gideon and I head over to the Nimitz.  I need someone I can trust at the helm here." (reply Saleke, if you want) "Computer, locate Lt. Commander Gideon." [Lt Commander Gideon is in his quarters.] This was what she was afraid of.  She wanted to get back home early, to be ready for the meeting.  "Staus of the Lt. Commander." [Lt. Commander Gideon is in good health ans awake.] She breathed a sigh of relief, and tapped her comm badge.  "Troi to Gideon, please meet me in the transporter room in 10minutes." (reply Gideon) "Lt, you have the conn," and she turned and headed home.   (reply Saleke, Gideon) (posted by Al Muir) Stardate:2406.10.06 (USS Nimitz - Bridge - Captain Sash & Lt.Cmdr Edward Gideon -08:32) Edward arrived at the smashed bridge of the USS Nimitz, the damage was extensive and the engineering teams were still scurrying around in attempt to make the repairs. Edward looked around the eyes that fell on him they obviously did not know what to make of him. For security reasons all the crews of the Alamo and Trawler that had survived were being held under guard just in case they were going to attempt to halt the Nimitz's repairs or attempt to sabotage anything. In all realistic terms there was little other choice, the threat in the Nimitz's weakened state would be disastrous. Edward looked at his little security guard that was following him around; the fact that he was armed made Edward feel a little unwelcome. For some reason Sash had requested his presence it was probably to discover what were his last rights. Pushing the door chime Edward waited for the Captain to accept his presence. As the doors slowly came open Edward entered and looked at the CO behind the desk, it was the same angry man he had spoke to over the com link. "Captain Sash, Lieutenant Commander Gideon reporting as ordered sir," Edward stated hopping to attention. Sash held up his hand and motioned Gideon in. "Damn it, we need to have those sensors on line. I'm sure that the Alamo would not have gone down without sending out some kind of warning. LeBeau was no fool. Sash out." He looked up at the Gideon who was looking a little out of his element. "Come in Lt. commander, come in. Have a seat." He motioned to the chair across from his desk. "You can leave us," he told the security officer. He could see that he was about to get an argument but he gave a look that stopped the Lt. in his tracks. He nodded and turned, leaving the captain alone with his guest. He picked up a PADD and ignored Gideon for a moment, enthralled by what he was reading. Then he stood up slapping the PADD into the palm of his left hand. "Well, well, well, Lt Commander Gideon," Sash walked around his desk and sat on the edge; an evil smile came across his face. "Apparently you have been in Starfleet a little longer than your record states. You look amazingly well for a person of your age." "Yes sir I have been in the service for 40 years, however sir my service record only states 10. How did you come across the classified section?" Edward had to enquire; his race was gifted with long lives much like the El-aurians. SFI had believed that keeping his full length of service would be the best to discise his presence on the vessel. Also his career was anything but stainless. Sash chuckled but did not answer his query. "Let's just say that I have my ways. So, tell me a little about your career with Starfleet." "I worked for SFI for 30 years sir, 10 years as security. You could say I have been around for a while. If I might speak freely sir?" It was always best to ask before shooting your mouth off. "Speaking your mind," Sash smiled, "does not seem to be a weakness in you. Please, say what's on your mind." "What do you plan on doing with us?" Sash nodded and wandered towards the window. "You certainly don't ask the easy questions. Some of the crew of the Archimedes has expressed an interest in staying with us. Some have voiced their desire to rerepatrioted with the other side. I will make those arrangements soon. I suppose the question for me is, what do you want done with you?" Edward paused for a moment and considered the question the choice was pretty simple. If he returned to the service that he had been captured from he would proberly face a prison term. He had betrayed the service, his vessel and his captain. To make matters worse he had ensured that the enemy of the service was going to receive the fuel they required to continue their war effort. "I have given it certain thought sir, I feel I cannot return to the fleet. I have let down a lot of people and caused the death of a lot of people who were my friends. My only choice might be to request to move on Sir. I will resign my commission and probably attempt to reconnect with some of my species. We have been scattered though out the galaxy since well lets just say along time. I have always hoped to find my own people once more," Edward stated, the choice was not easy but it appeared to be the only one. "That's too bad," Sash replied. "I was kind of hoping that you would join with us." "Sir, I doubt I would be much use to you," "Well I don't know about that," Sash said. "Commander Troi was obviously impressed by you, and she's not that easily impressed. You also seem to have some experience in SFI, and we seem to have a vacancy in that department." "I do have a lot of experience but I would not like to replace Commander Wilson. He was a friend," "Indeed," Sash turned and faced Gideon, "I can understand that sentiment. I also know that there are two ways of looking at it. You could look at that you would be replacing your friend. You could also look at it as if you were paying homage to the man by excelling in his role. Either way, the decision is yours." Sash paused for a moment. "You could also consider this. I am looking for someone to take over as Security Chief. I have been lacking one of those for a while as well. Ensign Kateb has been doubling up as Tactical and Security, but I think with your experience, that you could be of value in that position as well." Edward thought for a moment and then nodded, the option was better than any other he could come up with for the mean time. Smiling he looked the Captain in the eyes. "Sure, it sounds like fun," Edward stated, it was after all the less of all evils. The idea of the enemy of my enemy being my friend had a whole new meaning. As he was becoming quite engrossed in his star watching he heard the door activate once more. Turning to face the newest person he looked the ensign up and down. From the teal of the uniform it was clear he was in the medical department and the way he was carrying himself most probably a shrink. As he began to make his good mornings he even turned to Edward and made a sir at the end. Grinning Edward shook the ensign’s hand. “Lieutenant Commander Gideon, a pleasure to meet you ensign and a damn fine morning,” Edward stated grinning, first impressions and all it always helped to at least portray a happy fellow. (Reply Harrison) As the door activated once more Edward took a breath, what only could be described as a large bear stuffed into a Starfleet uniform came stumbling into the room. Edward watched the bear move, as it seemed to hold its paw in some distress, from the bandage he had obviously been injured in the engagement. However the bear did not seem the most likely of security officers. Although the great tactical advantage of having your opponents face up to a bear when they first boarded or engaged you could be a great one. As the bear seemed to sniff the air he turned to face Edward. Sitting there thrown for a while he remained still pretended not to notice the bear. As his eyes caught the bears once more the bear smiled with all his fangs, Ed returned the gesture and smiled back. ~ You wouldn’t be that happy to no we used to hunt you and one of you adorns my floor on Earth, ~ Edward thought to himself. Although the possibility of the links between the bears of Earth and this species were thin at best. As the bear began to talk Edward raised an eyebrow, the sentences seemed forced and not how the universal translator often translated speech. However from the bears physical appearance, no doubt the communication would be complex hence the translator properly taking longer to translate. What came next was possibly the most uncomfortable situation of his career the large bear wrapped a paw around him in a hug. So to speak, the bears grip was enormous and very powerful. Edward’s mind began to race ~A Brikkar and a bear. This ship sure does love the larger crew ~ "Zzt glad meet you. What you do?" Edward took a moment to make sense of the statement; no doubt he would get used to it rapidly however at the moment the strained expression on his face pretty much said it all. “Im the new Security and Intelligence Chief,” Edward stated smiling, not really wanting to annoy the bear that had his arm around his neck at the moment. “What do you do Lieutenant?” (Reply Zzt) As Edward was about to speak a marine and scientist hurtled over the seats and began to fight on the table. Rolling his eyes in disgust he paused for a moment. As he scanned the room with his eyes he looked for a phaser or possibly very large mop or broom would do at this point. The marine officer had clamped for want of a better word to the scientists leg and the science officer seemed in obvious distress. In his position no doubt he would have tried to break the marines neck by now. By the problems of Starfleet you cant really kill your own. An arm is expendable and heals. Edward moved over to the scientist and looked him in the well shades. “What did you do to the marine?” (Reply Shades) “Have you tried apologising?” (Reply Shades) (Reply Harrison, Zzt, Shades, any) (Posted By Rich) Stardate:2406.10.06 (USS Nimitz - Conference lounge - COUNS Ensign John Harrison - 0949) Counsellor Harrison walked into the Conference Room in a composed manner. As the door closed behind him, he yawned mightily having stayed up most of the night seeing to repairs. His wounded paw was bandaged up and itched quite a bit. He had to resist the urge to lick it. He rubbed his eyes with his free paw while looking around the room and nose raised high to catch the scents in the room. Zzt waved to the Onyx and Sash before taking his seat on the floor right next to where the counselor was sitting. Zzt turned to look at the newest member of the crew and bared his fangs in a large smile. "Hi," Zzt said, wrapping his large furry arm around Harrison and giving him a hug. "Zzt not meet you before. Just then the doors opened and a pair of bodies flew through the door landing on the conference table. Zzt gasped, stepping back not knowing what was going on. Zzt watched as the new Security Chief moved up to handle the situation. Zzt instinctively sniffed the air, watching as the tellarite kept yanking on Falthgood's leg. "Some help would be appreciated here, anyone!" Zach said, landing another kick to the tellarite face. The sound of Zach's voice snapped Zzt out of his shock and spurred him to action. "BAD PIGGY!!" Zzt yelled, barreling past Gideon and grabbing Dorkin by the neck and lifting him high over head, pressing the marine against the ceiling. Zzt wagged an accusing claw at Dorkin. "Piggy no eat Falthgood!" His attention so focused on Dorkin, Zzt failed to notice that Dorkin still had hold of Falthgood's leg, who was now dangling upside down swaying gently a few feet above the floor. It had been a long day, it was only going to get longer. He was just turning when he felt something knock him in the knees. He looked down with a frown and beheld a furry fire-plug just turning to look up at him. ~Wonderful.~ "Watch where you're going you over-sized lout." The fire-plug grumbled. The SciRe pushed the shades up from his nose and quirked an eyebrow, "Watch your mouth you over-stuffed walking rug." That caused the Tellarite, a Marine no less and looking quite worn himself, to stop dead in his tracks and turn around. "Rug is it? Listen here..." "Shut up." Zach said as he walked around the Marine. He knew the nuances of Tellarite Civil Conversation; he simply didn't have the patience at this point in time to deal with it. He suddenly jerked to a stop and emitted a low-pitched 'ccccckkkkhhh' in the back of his throat as someone, presumably the Tellarite, grabbed a hold of his uniform and jerked back. Zach spun on his heel and looked back down at the Marine. "Behave," was all the Tellarite said. "Someone should have told your father that." Zach answered coldly. "Touch me again and Ill skin you myself." That caught Dorkin's attention, the piggish eyes narrowed and he puffed up. "If you were not a Starfleet Officer, I'd call a blood feud on you for that, human." He said in a low growl. Falthgood waved his hand in disgust, "Why bother? The uniform and formality has never stopped you before. Now shut up, I've got a headache, and you're only giving me a bigger one." He began turning, on guard, but even so the cry of rage that erupted from Dorkin was surprising. The short Tellarite bowled head-long into the 7 foot officer, throwing him through the door and over a seat, onto the main conference table. Zach, no stranger to dirty fighting in the past, managed to grab hold of his fur and give him and extra little toss when he had finally landed on his back on the table... he tossed Dorkin over his head and onto the floor on the opposite side of the table. "Is that all you got!" he yelled, still flat on his back on top of the table. The Tellarite growled as he picked himself up, but Zach had already started chuckling. He turned his head to look at the Captain, "Good Evening, Captain, nice view over here." Before anyone could answer, the Tellarite had grabbed hold of Zach's foot and began yanking savagely. The human, by reflex, pulled back his free leg and gave the walking hairball a couple good kicks to the face. "Some help would be appreciated here, anyone!" he said, as he aimed one more kick at the Tellarites nose before the very strong creature could rip his foot off. (reply: any in the Conference room) (posted by Trout) Stardate:2406.10.06 (USS Nimitz- Conference lounge- CO- Captain devan Sash- 09:58) Sash looked up to see Onyx Kateb walk through the door.  The small acamarian was carrying one of the largest cups of coffee he'd seen. "Good morning Captain!" "Good morning Ensign," Sash gave her a comforting smile.  "You look a little beat.  Did you get any rest last night." "I did have some sleep, about 5 hrs of it.  I had to set up security has I could, but that you know... it's in the report I sent last night.  I don't think I have ever fallen asleep that fast.  I rarely do... need to do some exercise, or training." Sash knew that feeling.  "Well then, perhaps we should workout together sometime?" Onyx took her place at the table.  "Ensign, let me formally introduce you to Lt Commander Edward Gideon.  Commander, Ensign Onyx Kateb, our current TAC/SC.  I guess I should tellyou this so it's not a big surpride Ensign.  I will be asking the Lt. commander to take over the responsibilities of security chief." The door opened again, admitting the Counselor, ending their conversation. "Good morning, Captain, Ensign," he said "Sir." “Lieutenant Commander Gideon," Gideon stood and shook hands with Harrison, "a pleasure to meet you ensign and a damn fine morning,” The next one to walk through the door was Zzt.  His hand was bandaged and he looked bedraggled and a little matted.  sash figured that Zzt was the one person in the crew that had as little , if not less, sleep than he had.  Still, the Gerratlian had plenty of energy for meeting the new crewmen.   Sash smiled as the huge CEO swept Harrison into a huge, for lack of a better term, bear hug.  Harrison looked as though he thought he was about to be eaten alive, and then relaxed in the fuzzy embrace.  Then he turned his attention to Gideon.  While putting the new SC into a similar hug he asked questions.   "You new too!!  Glad meet you.  What you do?" “Im the new Security and Intelligence Chief,” Gideon replied, more confident than the Counselor that he was not about to die. “What do you do Lieutenant?”   "Zzt Chief Engineer,"  Zzt told him.   Before the the conversation could get any further, the door opened to a tellarite flying into the room, followed by Lt. Falthgood.  They both wound up on the table top, in a struggle.  Falthgood had the advantage for the moment, but Sash knew that Dorkin wouldn't allow that to continue for long, and Falthgood knew it aswell.   "Some help would be appreciated here, anyone!" Falthgood pleaded.  Gideon walked up to the table as Sash stepped over to the replicator and ordered a glass of ice water.  It seemed that Gideon was not really ready to seperate the two, however another blur of movement saw Zzt move into the melee.   "BAD PIGGY!!"  Zzt yelled and grabbed Dorkin, who was holding onto Falthgoods leg.  By the time zzt was done they looked like a circus act.  No that wasn't it.  Sash had once been introduced to an early 20th century group of entertainers and philosophers.  They were called the "Three Stooges."  That was what it looked like.    Sash rubbed his forehead and looked at his glass.  He contemplated ordering a bucket of water to throw on them, then thought better of that.  He took a sip of his water then stepped up to the trio.  He took a deep breath.   "THAT IS ENOUGH!!!" he yelled to get everyones attention.  "Mr. Zzt, drop Major Dorkin."   There was a dull thud as the two bodies hit the floor.  "Major Dorkin, Lt. Falthgood, and both of those titles are subject to challenge right now, if I had time right now I'd find out just what the hell was going on, but we have other matters to take care.  So sit down and we'll take care of this afterwards."   (reply any) (posted by Al Muir) Stardate:2406.10.06 (USS Nimitz - Conference lounge - LT Falthgood - 09:58) "BAD PIGGY!!" "oh..." Zach said as he was flung up. He hit his head once on the table before swinging free with his head a couple feet over the floor. His head bumped into Zzt's leg a couple times, he rapidly came to the conclusion that Zzt ala-rare tasted like crap, he made a mental note to talk to the matre`dee later. He managed to extend his arms and grab hold of the carpet to negate his swing, just as the lovable bear Zzt was admonishing the 'piggy' not to eat rare red meat. It was enough to make him begin to laugh, it was so hilariously implausible... who would have imagined 10 minutes ago that he would be bruised, battered and enjoying a fine meal of Fur while being held upside down, held up by a Tellarite who had just tried to kill him? "THAT IS ENOUGH!!! Mr. Zzt, drop Major Dorkin." The captain said. ~Damn!~ Just as he cut off his laugh, the Chief Engineer dropped Dorkin... Meaning, he dropped Zach as well. With his arms extended, he managed not to slam his head into the deck and fell flat as a board. His day wasn't improved, however, when the 200 pound pig fell right on top of him. "Oof-" was all he could manage. "Major Dorkin, Lt. Falthgood, and both of those titles are subject to challenge right now, if I had time right now I'd find out just what the hell was going on, but we have other matters to take care. So sit down and we'll take care of this afterwards." "Aye Cap," Falthgood wheezed, "Get off me, you ball of fur!" he managed to say with a bit more strength. The Tellarite growled, "Ill deal with you later, human." Was his only immediate response. The Marine rolled off and stood up again, Falthgood lay his head back down and took a couple deep breaths... every bit of air in his lungs had vacated the premises from the force of Dorkin's bulk. He did manage to catch Dorkin's glare at the Chief Engineering Officer. Somehow, Zach didn't think Zzt would care much... the CEO could rip even a Tellarite limb-from-limb, and he could probably make a meal of the errant officer as well. There were possibilities with that, Zach decided. The Tellarite glared at everyone at the table, "I am hereby declaring a formal blood feud with Falthgood and his family." Dorkin glared at everyone a moment longer, then took a seat. By this time, Zach was sitting up and began looking for a seat himself. (Stardate: 2400.02.14)(Planet Risa – Hotel Suite – Special Agent Edward Gideon & Onyx Kateb – 07:00) Edward rolled over in the large bed and looked at Onyx, she was still silently asleep. Looking so peaceful Edward could have remained there forever living a very content but not that eventful life just looking. In the past two years he had grown more and more attached to Onyx, the two had barely been apart except for when Edward had a meeting with his publisher. Or better known as the Directorate chief Captain Joseph Blackford. For her own protection Edward had never told her what his real job was. The truth that he was infect an agent of the Starfleet intelligence was not an easy thing to break to a person. It meant that the last 2 years had been lived as a lie and all those meetings with publishers were in fact mission briefings and all those publicity tours were in fact missions. The secrete was weighing heavy on Edward and John’s constant jokes were not helping. Edward watched the sun hit Onyx’s skin as she began to shift under the new light and heat. They had gone to Risa for a break and for once that was the truth. Brushing her hair back Ed gave her a great big smile. “Morning sleepy head,” "Good morning!" She smiled, she felt so relaxed that she didn't want to move. "So what do you want to do today?" Edward stated softly with a boyish grin. "I would glady stay in bed... but I would like to sun bathe." She had in mine that new bikini she had bought not so long ago. Edward rolled over onto his back and thought about the ring that he had in the draw of the bedside cabinet. He also thought about the pistol he had located in his suitcase and one concealed beneath the backboard of the bed. If he was going to give her the ring the guns and the danger came with it. "Well sun bathing it is then. I do however have something for you," "You do?" She stretch in the bed and distractly caressed his shoulder. Edward rolled her over and stayed onto of her, during the roll he had already collected the ring and had it positioned softly in his hand. It was out of her vision and he was still fighting his inner demons over the choice. He was going to he was going to tell her the truth. "Onyx, I love you very much," "I know you do. I love you to!" She pass her arms around him and wonder what was going on in his mind. Slowly he moved the ring into her vision and opened it up. The large diamond ring glistened in the sun and Edward smiled. "Onyx Kateb, will you do me the honour of becoming my wife?" Edward stated feeling his stomach doing back flips at the prospect of the answer being no. Onyx breathing suddenly stop, as she look at the ring and then at Edward. Part of her didn't believe that it was happening, but then she could feel that he was nervous. Probably a full minute have pass before she game an answer to his question. "Yes!" Ed felt his heart start again, he could look down the barrel of a person whom wanted to kill him and not flinch. But in that moment he had felt his life pass before him. Taking out the ring he placed it on her finger and then wrapped his arms around her. Kissing her he laughed out loud. "You have made me the happiest man alive," Edward stated. "I'm very happy also." She smiled and kiss him again. "I didn't expect this!" "I never expected it even, I love you more than life itself and I just want to..." Edward's words trailed off as the communication device he kept on him at all times activated. "Two seconds," He stated to Onyx moving over to collect the device. =^= Ed it has happened, a bomb. 2000000 dead, =^= Wilson's voice paused. =^= Blackford is going ape all leave is cancelled. You need to get to the base, =^= Edward turned and made a shy smile at Onyx; covering the receiver he spoke to her. "I have to go," Edward stated his mind searching for an excuse to leave. This was the happiest day of his life just ruined. Onyx lay on her side with a wondering look. "What is going on Edward?" "There has been some sort of explosion on a planet. Terrorist activity the federation news service is sending me to cover," Edward stated. After starting his relationship Blackford and Wilson had designed the ruse that had had become a reporter for the federation news service. Edward Gideon had a desk, an office and a receptionist. Of course Edward had never been near any of them it was a good ruse and a good excuse for frequent absences. Edward moved his hand and then spoke to Wilson. "Il need to get to a shuttle," Edward stated. =^= No need to worry, USS New England is diverting to collect and deliver you. Sorry about this old friend, =^= the com fell dead and Edward moved to put some clothes on. "Im sorry about this," Edward stated throwing the first outfit possible on. "Be careful now! But, tell me... did you tell anyone that you were planing to ask me to be your wife?" Onyx was trying to understand because certainly Edward had plan to pop the question and maybe others knew. "John knew so did my publisher," Ed stated little thrown my referring to the black hearted Captain Blackford as something nice like a Publisher. "I promise to get back as soon as I can. Edward collected his bag and threw all his stuff in a haphazard manner. Giving Onyx an embrace he moved back into the centre of the room as he was engulfed in a transporter beam. (Stardate: 2404.10.07)(Earth – England – Warehouse – Special Agents Edward Gideon & John Wilson – 03:00) Edward looked around the dark warehouse, as the coldness of his wet clothes sank in he began to shake. The phaser wound to his shoulder continued to bleed with the limited resources he had made a makeshift bandage for his arm. The mission had been a blunder from the start, the initial Intel was incorrect the amount of hostiles was seriously underestimated. What was worse was that his cover was blown the moment he entered the area. Edward had just about managed to make it out of the zone and was waiting at the point of extraction for the arrival of the handlers. Edward looked at the phaser pistol he held in his hand, the intelligence issued weapon was identical to gun of the 20th century so light weight and compact and tended to be a lot more accurate than the standard issue phaser. For the jobs that Intel was required for the standard phaser just didn’t cut the mustard, this one did the job and did the job well. Also it looked a little more threatening. Edward looked at his watch for the 5th time, Wilson was late. He could risk lighting a fire but if there were shuttles searching for him or any form of tracking it would be a homing beacon for his location. So for the mean time he sat in the cold damp and attempted to maintain his sanity. He thought of better times and finally getting out of this business, this was agreed to be his final mission. Blackford had reluctantly accepted this. But the virtual suicide mission he had just been sent on obviously pointed to the fact he had been set up. Edward could have sat and contemplated who had been in a position to set him up but instead he thought of his wife at home. He was leaving this business to protect her; if he stayed she would continue to be in danger. Footsteps in the dark broke Edward out of his shaking as he concentrated on getting behind cover, as he peeped his head from around the box he recognised Wilson. Standing up he pointed and trained the weapon with his good arm at Wilson’s skull. “Don’t even move John, I don’t want to kill you,” Edward stated assuming a tactical stance for utmost balance. Wilson looked a little thrown but raised his hands into the air. “Ed, you sold the men out!” From the sound of his voice Wilson was not happy and honestly believed Edward was a mole. “We knew of a mole for a while now we did not realise it was you Ed,” “Im no mole, I was set up with the rest of the men,” Edward stated thinking back to the phaser fight that had just occurred in the target location. “Ed the rest of the team is dead, you survived. Do yourself the favour and turn yourself in, you know the directorate looks after its own,” Wilson stated, from the look in his eyes Edward could tell he was trying to figure out if he could draw before Edward in his weakened condition could fire at him. From Wilson’s maintenance of the hands up stature it was clear he didn’ t like his chances. “Im innocent I did nothing,” Ed stated pleading with Wilson, as Wilson was about to speak Edward’s watch activated. Glaring at Wilson he aimed again. “You’ve brought them here!” “Ed it is easier this way. You know they will kill you if you try and run,” “Not if I get to them first,” Ed aimed again and fired. (Earth – Gideon house – Agent Gideon & Onyx Kateb – 05:00) Edward dragged himself into the house and looked at his shoulder once more, the blood was oozing from the wound worse than before. The obvious strain of the earlier conflict had created extra pressure on the wound. However at the moment there was more pressing matters, the Directorate would be sending agents to his house in the matter of moments. If they believed he was the mole the probability was that they would attempt to lock down the shuttle ports rather than come to his house. There was more chance a mole would make a clean break, however Ed was no mole. Stumbling upstairs he burst into the bedroom weapon drawn. “Onyx get out of bed!” Onyx rub her eye and look at Edward, he was hurt. "What is going on?" She got up and put on her bathrob. "Ive been shot and you need to get some stuff together now," Edward stated falling onto the floor. The blood loss was starting to get to him and his body could not heal the wound at the moment. It was still struggling with the sedative they had attempted to dope him with. "Edward... tell me." She came to him with some clean towell and put it on the wound. "I don't understand!" "Im not a reporter," Edward stated taking a deep breath to break the pain as the towel was placed on the wound. "Im a agent of the intelligence services for a clandestine operations team called the directorate. A mission has gone badly and they believe im a mole. My own people have just attempted to kill me so we need to get out of here now!" "You are an SFI agent!" This was a big piece to take but she manage to get up, take a bag and put things in there. She turn around suddenly. "Everything was a lie then!" Ed winced in pain; he didn’t really have the energy to be going over this at the moment however there appeared to be little other choices. "Im a agent of the SFI division deep cover operatives. We are not public like SFI only key leaders know of our presence. It wasn’t a lie per say, it was a disillusion to protect you. If the forces we deal with knew that you knew the truth they would use you to get to me. That lie was there to make sure they didn’t use you to get to me. However I think the chief of operations of the Directorate has realised I have the files he has been leaking via dead drops," Onyx didn't know if she had to be scarred or angry, so she opted for both. She looked at him and said coldly. "What do you want to do?" "The real SFI has offered me a protection programme for me and you. Im to take the files to an agent and in return we shall be relocated and protected," Edward paused and pointed to a photo of their wedding. "In the back of the photo there is a isoliner chip containing all the files pointing to the fact that the Directorate is being abused by certain members. You need to grab that, then we need to move and move fast," Onyx said nothing, she grab the picture and push it in the bag, adding up other stuff. "I'm ready!" She took her Bat'Leth off the wall and harnest it to her back. Edward smiled she had took the information better than he had expected. However now the problem was he was going to have to get past all of his old colleagues walk right up to a SFI office and surrender himself. The Directorate was officially still part of SFI but in recent times their power had expanded and they began to act with out consent. This could not be allowed, when Gideon had declared his intent to leave Blackford took it too rapidly. He should have spotted Blackford's motive. "You know we will no longer exist, we leave and that is it for life," Onyx said nothing, she was furious but practical. "We have to go Edward... So where do we go?" "We need to get to London it is about a 3 hour journey from here. We are going to need to avoid all public transport and move independently. Transport is out of the question and the defence net will detect a shuttle immediately. The best bet is going to be good old-fashioned 4 wheels on ground. I have procured the 4 x 4 from a Argo class shuttle, that will be our fastest way," "The 4 X 4 in the storage behind the house." Edward raised an eyebrow he had no idea she knew about that. He had gone too great effort to keep it secrete. "Yes the one behind the house. You are going to need to help me out though," Edward stated. As he was pulled to his feet he looked at her and brushed her hair back with his good hand. "I could never put you in danger," "We will talk about this later... I'm too angry right now!" Onyx help him to get out of the house, through the bag behind and help Edward in the passenger seat, she was going to drive. She help him put on the seat belt, put hers and they left. (Earth – London – SFI Offices – Agent Edward Gideon & Onyx Kateb – 15 :00) Edward moved his right arm again, the doctors had done a god job. However he could not get full use of it at the moment, his hands were still cuffed together. Edward rested his hands on the desk of the interigation room he was locked in. Edward had undergone the most rapid debrief of his career. As a walk in he was subject to alot of checks that was to be expected but he was being treated like the enemy. Edward had requested to see Onyx again so far that had been rejected. The arrival of a new officer at the door might have heralded better results. The agent to enter was none other than John Wilson. Glaring with fire in his eyes Edward lept forward at him, Wilson simply sidesteped and then placed a foot on Edward’s chest. Helplessley Edward stared up at him, the smugger Englishman talked. "Edward Gideon on behalf of SFI im happy to grant you protection. The information you gathered on Blackford was greater than to wish I was capable of collecting even as his FO," Edward reeled from the information. He had been played from the get go. "However now the choice for you is simple. If we put both of you into protection you will be dooming her to a life of secrecy and hiding," "They will kill her," Edward stated still lying on the cold floor. "That’s why I shall offer you this..." As John began to explain Edward took the information in. The decision would not be made quite yet. Wilson finally released his foot after Edward had agreed. Nodding to the guard Edward was lifted off the ground and moved into another room with Onyx in. "Are you ok? Did they hurt you?" "No, they just scanned me and left me alone ever since." "Right, they have promised your protection," Edward stated unsure of how a hug would be accepted at this point. "Im sorry for lying to you," Onyx had time to calm down ever since they got there, so now she could talk. "I have turn in my mind are past and I can't seem to find where the lies began or the truth." "The first time I met you remember the Ferengi in the Louvre?" "Yes, I do!" "My first mission was to collect a item from them in Paris. However I left with something more important than the damn mission," Edward paused and continued. "Every time I went on a assignment, I was on a mission. It hurt me so much to lie to you but I didn’t have any other choice," "So those are the lies.... how about us?"Onyx stated looking at him straight in the eyes. "That was real, I fell in love with you from the first moment I saw you. Everything about us has been real I have been deeply in love with you but I could not give up the job," "Could not give up the job and lying to me. Is there anything else that I should know?" Part of her mind wondered if there as been other women and she hope that it wasn't the case. "Like what Onyx?" Edward stated knowing this conversation was going downhill fast. Onyx took a deep breath. "Was there any other women?" Her voiced cracked suddenly, she took a deep breath to steady herself. She then put her hand on her chest, her heart was beating so fast and hard waiting for the answer. "No never. I married you no one else, I loved you and well no one else in your life time," Edward stated make bad jokes about his age had been a hallmark of his humour. Onyx let go a deep sigh of relief. She closed her eye for a moment. "What will happen now?" "We will get relocated under escort and protected until the Directorate can be dissolved. The option is yours though, they can relocate you alone or with me," Onyx got up and pace a little, she felt a little emprissoned in this room. "Alone is dangerous I would imagine, better be together." She turn to look at him. Edward smiled and extended his arms around her. As he hugged her tight he kissed her head. "We need to go then, they have a shuttle on the roof," It felt good to have let out the air, she was happy, yet she couldn't help but feel that it wasn't over. "Ok... let's go!" As they reached the roof Edward kept tight hold of her hand. He knew what was coming soon he had no choice. Edward paused as the SFI officer stood at the doorway. "Mrs Kateb, you will be boarding a second shuttle in a moment. You need to wait here," Ed raised an eyebrow and held her hand tighter. "Im not going with out her," Edward stated sounding definitive on the issue. "Agent Gideon, we have no choice your movements are being watched sir we need to separate you. The ship is waiting for you and will collect the both of you sir," Edward nodded and turned to Onyx. "I love you," He stated kissing her. "I love you to!" She whispered back hugging him. "Dont worry I shall be right back," Looking back to the direction of the door the SFI agent opened it and then guided him to the open shuttle. As he moved into the shuttle he strapped himself in. As he sat in the shuttle he could still see Onyx, waving to her, his attention was not on the explosive on the shuttle. In a split second the shuttle erupted in an explosion. As the shuttle blew up completely the SFI agent dived onto of Onyx throwing her to the ground. Immediately the eruption of alarms and shouts burst out from all over the base. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Onyx said and she feinted. (Reply Anyone) (Posted by Nathan M. As Edward looked at her she had not changed since he had first met her. (Stardate: 2399.10.07)(Earth – Paris – Louvre Museum – Agent Edward Gideon & Onyx Kateb – 12:00) Edward walked up the long path towards the museum; he had started his little trek at the rebuilt Arc du triumph and was making good time at the moment. He had been in Paris for 6 months now; he had a nice little apartment near the Waterfront and existed quite happily. Of course in the current location he was not Edward Gideon his legend was that of Heinz Blitzer. A wealthy German businessman interested in unique and extravagant items from all over the world and galaxy. Edward continued his slow walk in his lightweight white suit and blue shirt, all happily provided by Commander Blackford. However due to the fit of the suit and the various security devices around the museum he was unarmed. Not the best of situations when going to meet Ferengi dealers. The large glass pyramid restored after the third world war loomed in the distance. Edward grinned, unknown to most his grandfather had helped construct it all that time ago. A most comical testament to his family. Edward reached the security checkpoint and placed his brief case on the conveyer. As the brief case moved alone along the scanners Edward walked through the sensor areas. Even in modern times the museum had been subject to a lot of attempted robberies. As with fort Knox the Ferengi’s tended to be the perpetrators. Hence when all ferengi’s were in the Louvre Security was practically quadrupled. The dampening field was for the security of all the exhibits but for Edward’s point of view it was a most dangerous place to be in. If the Ferengi’s turned he would be facing trying to run on foot. Leaving Blackford’s precious procurement behind. Blackford’s desperation for the device was clear but motive was lacking. He had sent Wilson in 3 months prior to this to attempt to steal it. As John had failed Blackford turned to more diplomatic means i.e. he was going to bribe them. A Ferengi after all loved nothing more than latinum or in this case the location of a safety disposition box holding something valuable to the Ferengi. Edward didn’t really care though it was not in his interest. As the security guard waved him forward Edward took the escalator down a level into the main foyer. The building had been painstakingly restored to its former glory including all the old technology and exhibits. As the escalator moved him down slowly a young female caught his eye. Her short hair and obvious self-confidence shone as she shunned a guy attempting to come onto her. Smiling to himself he looked at his watch, as the silver hour hand reached the 45 mark he grinned. Close to one hour till the Ferengi’s were due. He had some time to kill, watching the direction she had gone in Edward moved at not a hurried pace but a nice gentle stroll. The young woman was obviously most interested in the weapons on display in the museum since that was the first exhibit she stopped still longer than 2 minutes. Edward walked behind her and then spoke. “Beautiful,” Edward stated his British accent clearly not hidden. Onyx didn't turn but look at the reflection in the glass window. "Yes... A very beautiful Colt, with a very nice handle." Edward smiled to himself, Directorate training had granted him a keen eye for all potential weapons. However he was more interested in the woman. "The gun isn’t bad," Edward stated jokingly. Onyx turned around, give him a small corner smile. "What I'm more interested in are the blades, it's further in." She pushed her lock of hair from her face. Edward slowly followed and looked at the blade collection. The old collection was vastly expanded, now weapons from all over the galaxy adorned the walls. Klingon weapons, Ferengi, Romulan, all numerous other favourites. Edward looked at the tattoo on her face discreetly, it was unusual but since when had Edward been attracted to usual ladies. "Sorry my name is Edward Gideon," He stated giving a warm smile. "Onyx Kateb." Edward smiled. "What brings you to Paris Onyx?" "Vacation... spent 2 months on a Klingon war bird." She look at the Bat'Leth with a smile. "It's just as nice as the one I have." "Klingon war bird, so you’re Starfleet then?" Edward stated, already beginning to formulate a new identity for himself. The bane of his job was to keep track of who he infact was. Edward Gideon was becoming more and more buried beneath numerous legends. "I'm thinking about it... my sorta uncle is in starfleet, permitted me to explore the univers. As for my adoptive father... he is Councillor G’Rhor." Onyx didn't know why she revealled that but looking at that klingon weapon made her proud. Edward searched his memory; Councillor G'Rhor seemed a familiar name. The Klingon council however never really appreciated Directorate presence on their planet. Saying that no one really appreciated them. "Ahhh im a writer myself, never really found the appeal in Starfleet," Edward stated, not strictly lying just bending the truth. It was true he didn’t really like Starfleet but the writer section; good god the man could not Wright at all. "I'm searching if I want to go to starfleet. My adoptive father is ready to set me up in one of his ships." She continued on and stop in front of the japanesse weapon section. "Ahhh if your heart is not in it then there is no point," As Edward spoke he scanned the room with his eyes for any possible hostiles. "So where are you staying Onyx," Edward stated, he had familiarised himself with a majority of Paris. Primarily though location of shuttle and transport areas, however his love of Paris was beginning to grow. With this love he was starting to familiarise himself with the area more so. "Hotel called La Chaumière Fleurie. I'm still here for a couple of weeks. Then, I will go to Beijing."Onyx did see that he was preocupied but said nothing. "Ah so your trekking around Earth for a while then. Well if you are in Paris for a while I insist you meet me for dinner," Edward stated being totally forward. However in his line of work being forward was the only way to get to things before others did. Onyx was a bit surprised. "Are you sure?" "Yes I know a lovely restaurant, say 20:00?" "2000 hrs... where?" "Il pick you up," Edward stated confidently. Then something cut her eyes. "Damn! Ferengies... I really can't stand those guys." She managed to hide behind a samourai outfit. Edward grinned to himself and made a count of the Ferengi's attempting poorley to blend in with the two human body guards. Turning back to her he spoke. "However you want Onyx, Now however I have a meeting with the director of the museum. So i shall pick you up at 8," Edward stated confirming the plans once more. "Understood! Until then?" Edward paused to collect this thoughts. "My meeting shouldn’t last long. How about we meet outside in say 40 minutes?" If the mission went to plan that timing would be brilliant. "That is about the time it will take for me to see this section of the museum. Alright!" "Have fun Miss Onyx," Edward stated kissing her hand and then turning to walk towards the meeting point. "I will." She smiled a little, wondering where this would go. As he reached the meeting point Edward looked at the 3 Ferengi’s and 2 humans they had obviously hired for muscle. Edward weighed up the two men and calculated their weights and physiques. From their build and stance they were obviously mercs. Edward smiled at the group. “Damion Norm?” Edward stated inquisitively. The Ferengi nodded and then spoke. “Mr Blitzer,” The Ferengi stated, Edward gave a nod. The distance between them obviously illustrated the lack of trust between the two groups. “Please call me Heinz,” Edward stated in a put on thick German accent. His species had a knack for languages and his speech was perfect for a passing as a resident German. However the Ferengi’s did not seem impressed as they maintained a distance from him. “Do you have the item?” “Yes, do you have the money?” The Ferengi enquired, Ed could not but mentally laugh it was something out of a bad film. The bigger problem was from the stance the humans were taking nothing was going to go easy today. Edward grinned to himself; his earpiece came to life with the voice of John Wilson. =^= You always flirt too much keep your mind on the job! =^= Edward laughed internally, after all a man laughing to himself was not the best advertisement during a deal. Kinkaid, also, remembered the few from his own section that had fallen. Being a doctor, it was difficult to digest the notion of a fellow physician killed in battle. The moment of reflection on the fallen was one Kinkaid would not forget nor will it be his last. As the time for meditation had past, Kinkaid listened to Captain Sash speak on some good news to offset the mourning of the bad. "Now that we have dealt with the past, lets look to the present. With the passing of Commander Wilson, I find that I'm in need of a second officer. After a long night, I have asked Dr. BigWill Kinkaid to be our 2O. Dr. Kinkaid, please come forward." Sash said. Kinkaid had no idea to what the captain was saying, but this was what made boys to men and young Lieutenants to future starhip captains. Kinkaid rose from his seat and proceed to the head of the table. Anxiety and nervousness was setting in, but Kinkaid stood next to Sash as if someone else was being honored instead of him. Sash opened a small box that contained a couple of pip ranks. Kinkaid's eyes widen as the captain pulled one of the pips out and place it on his lapel. As Sash read the promotion orders, Kinkaid could not believe what he was hearing when Sash came to the position part of the orders. "...I also promote you the the position as 2O. Computer please mark the date and the promotion of position." Kinkaid felt honored and privileged to be Captain Sash's 2O. After the ship computer acknowledged the promotion orders with a beep, Kinkaid was about to speak to Sash about his current duties as ship's doctor, but the captain had a sixth sense when he said with a smile, "We'll talk about how this will affect your duties later, Lt." Kinkaid knodded in agreement and held out his hand to shake Sash's hand. "Congratulations." Sash said as he shook Kinkaid's hand. "Thank you, Sir." Kinkaid said in return and went back to his seat. (Reply anyone at the meeting) (Posted by Nathan M. Williams) Stardate:2406.10.06 (USS Nimitz - Conference Room –SC/SFI – Lt.Cmdr Edward Gideon - 1004) The meeting began and Captain Sash started by holding a moment’s silence for the fallen crew. The post harmonious promotion of Wilson was a nice touch however the commander was very dead and not alive to appreciate it. After the demotion he had undergone and the removal from command level it was a poetic irony for him to be promoted in death.  No doubt before all this was over more of the crew would be lying dead on the deck. Blood had already been spilt and the worse part was that more blood was to be spilt over the coming campaign. So far the casualties had been confined to personnel how long till that ran over to innocents. The Captain proceeded to promote the doctor that had been aboard the trawler with Edward and also bring him into the command structure of the Nimitz. Since Edward knew barely any of the crew he maintained a posture of neutrality and remained silent. Bridging his fingers Ed watched the Captain continue the briefing. The Captain moved to promoted the Counsellor of the ship to full ensign. "I'd also like to introduce to you all, officially, Lt Commander Edward Gideon.  He will be taking on the role of Security Chief, so that Kateb can concentrate on the Tactical station.  After the meeting please take a moment to welcome the Lt. Commander." Edward moved his hands and placed them on the desk. “Thank you Captain Sash, It shall no doubt be a interesting ride,” Edward stated attempting to sound more optimistic than he was actually feeling at the moment. The situation of the both ships and the personal situation he was in did not make the situation any easier. After the people that Sash had requested a report off had gave it Edward cleared his throat to gain attention. After the Captain looked at him Edward spoke. “Captain, with the current tactical situation I have a suggestion sir. The Trawlers sensors cannot gain total coverage due to the damage therefore we could use the trawler as a form of hub. The shuttlecraft that the Nimitz holds could be utilised. If we position the shuttles through out the asteroid field they can all relay their sensor data. Due to the composition of the minerals the sensor net cannot be complete, using the shuttles in several areas would allow 80% coverage,” Edward stated giving his idea. (Reply Sash, any) (Posted By Rich) Stardate:2406.10.06 (USS Nimitz - Conference Room - COUNS - Ensign (sg) John Harrison - 1007) "Now that we're settled," the Captain began, "I want to start with a couple of items that must be addressed. I want to take a moment in rememberance of Lt. Commander John Wilson." The counsellor noticed a brief glance from the captain to Doctor Kirien. This was, after all, a sore subject. "I know he wasn't the only member of our crew to fall, but he was the first. John gave his life in service to the Federation and to the ship. And his sacrifice, aswell as the others should not go unheeded. I hereby promote John Wilson, posthumously, to the rank of commander, and bestow upon him the medal of distinction. Let's take a moment of silence in rememberance of our fallen comrades." Harrison bowed his head and remained silent. A memory flashed through his mind; kneeling by Lt. Commander Wilson, feeling for a pulse that wasn't there. The Counsellor listened as Sash announced the doctor's promotion. He shot a smile to Dr. Kincaid by way of congratulations as he made his way back to his seat. "There are other promotions in order, and I want to acknowledge everyone, but now is not the time. However, I would be remiss if I did not show my appreciation for one who really did go above and beyond the call, taking the responsibilities of a post he had not been trained for. Ensign Harrison, please step forward." Harrison was caught by surprise. He stood nervously, wide-eyed, and stepped up to the captain. The Captain's smile put him at ease. "In appreciation of your service I promote you to the rank of Ensign, senior grade, and award you a letter of Commendation. Good work counselor." "Thank you, sir," he smiled. A swell of pride, not conceit now filled him; something that the memory of the battle could not take away. He moved back to his seat and listened to the rest of the meeting.
